I think supporting one another. I think it does come down to that. Seeing work that is created and directed by women—and, if there’s someone you latch onto as an actress, to go see things that they’re in. And within the theatre community, to try and not perpetuate the competitive stereotype, because you don’t hear about men being particularly catty, but it’s something that’s assigned to women a fair amount. And, I think, trying to eliminate that from our day–to-day life, not just as theatre artists, but as women. That is where I feel like great change can happen—by genuinely supporting one another. —Celia Keenan-Bolger in The Interval on how to improve gender parity in theatre (x)

Feminism In A Run-Down Taffy Factory: The Women Of Bob’s Burgers | NPR

"I’m no hero," Tina declares in season three. "I put my bra on one boob at a time like everyone else." But for many, Tina does represent a new kind of hero. She weathers the anxieties of adolescence while gently testing the waters of her confidence. Tina might not be great at public speaking, but her message is clear: embrace your weirdness. Embrace your Tina.

DONALD GLOVER IS SPIDER-MAN AT LAST (IN DISNEY XD’S ANIMATED SPIDER-MAN SERIES)

By Andrew Wheeler

“My name is Miles Morales, and I’m Spider-Man.” With those words, Donald Glover takes his place among the ranks of official on-screen Spider-Men.

It’s been known for a while now that Miles Morales, the Ultimate Universe version of Spider-Man, would make his screen debut in an upcoming episode of the Disney XD series Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors, but only now do we know that the part will be voiced by actor and Spidey fan Donald Glover. It’s a brilliant casting decision that we choose to interpret as the first step towards more Miles in other media, rather than an end in its own right.

“What’s surprised you most about being a parent?”
“The feeling of being called ‘Dad.’ It’s the best feeling on earth. The first time my daughter called me ‘Dad,’ we were playing hide and go seek. I was pretending that I couldn’t find her, and I kept searching and searching, until finally she screamed: ‘Dad!’ It almost made me cry. It made me feel like Superman.’”
